There are many times that teachers may feel overwhelmed with trying to keep up with everything in the classroom that they may forget a birthday, not track homework, or loose items that students borrow. At times just having a simple form can help make the class go much smoother. Forms such as assignments not being completed, homework, calendars, parents phone numbers, and others may be helpful and a great addition to the classroom. Teachers don’t have to spend hours making forms because there are many great websites which provide free forms and are ideal for teachers.

There have been times when students are bored as they read a text and when they are done reading they don’t remember much of what they read. However, graphic organizers are a great way of helping students organize their thoughts and understand what they read because it allows them to represent their knowledge and ideas. Graphic organizers can work for reading, math, science and most subjects. In addition, graphic organizers are a great way of promoting interest, understanding, and it enhances recall. Educational software is a great way of incorporating technology in to the classroom. It is also helpful to have when creating workstations or use them for free time. Educational software can include different types of software that focuses on different topics such as language arts, math, science, history, typing, and many more. All of these different subjects or topics have different websites that have different software such as games, activities, and videos to help students learn in a more fun and creative way. Social bookmarks are used as a tool so that internet users can organize, search, and manage bookmarks of web resources. One way of using Delicious bookmarks with colleagues and students is by adding a tag that describes the bookmarks. For instance, teachers can include the bookmark of eduaction where other colleagues can see a tag which would be the description of the bookmark and include different articles or pages related to education. By joining delicious, colleagues can also add their own bookmarks about things that would be useful for students and teachers. Teachers can also share their bookmarks and browse through popular bookmarks that other people are sharing

A widget ia a web page that can be viewed and modified by anyone who has access to the internet. It’s also a communication tool that can include group collaboration. Educators use widgets in their classrooms to keep students more involved and interested in activities. Students can add anything to a widget. They are also more involved in activities because it is easier to access with any connection to the internet. They can also participate from any location. Wikis can be used for a science fair projects, students portfolios, or literature circles. Teachers can also benefit from wikis by being able to collaborate with other teachers.

Using RSS Feeds in Blogs

An RSS also known as a “Really Simple Syndication” is a way of subscribing to a website and it’s used to publish frequently updated works such as news head lines in to a blog or web page. The RSS feed is inserted as a link in to a blog then it automatically changes articles and pages depending in the topic.The link can also be categorized by adding a category and topics under it . It also allows you to choose how many articles would be visible and it updates often and automatically.

The CLRN Website

The CLRN website allows teachers to find videos and internet resources that are aligned to the content standarsd that teachers need to follow in the classroom. This website is very helpful because the resources are all connected to the different content areas such as science, math, and english, and many others. For instance, if I choose the subject area of Math then the CLRN website will give me many different software resources such as an internet resource, a video resource, or a cd-rom. All of these resources are for for different grade levels and it allows teachers to help find different resources for their students that are aleready aligned with the content standards.

Fields, Tables, and Records

Using Microsoft Access can be a little tricky, however it can also allow teachers to create forms and experiment with a new database. A database contains files within each file there is information. This information can contain tables, records, and many fields. For instance, in a field you can insert the persons name, street, city, and state. There is also only one record for each person. This record contains information about the person and with that record one is able to create a table or form with information about that person.

Posts and Pages Used in Blogs

Posts and pages are both used in blogs but they are not used the same way. A page can not be tagged, categorized, or dated. A page lets you add a topic to it such as: Welcome, Homework, Upcoming events and many more. On the other hand, a post can be categorized and tagged. It lets you add information about any topic and it will not show up as a menu item. Posts can also be added to a page where you can have it titled “Blog”.

Using Powerpoint Slide Shows

A PowerPoint slide show can be used in the classroom to target different areas and people. PowerPoints can be used to target colleagues when doing a presentation about any topic . They can also be helpful when having a meeting with colleagues. A powerpoint slide show can also be used with parents by doing a powerpoint presenation about back to school night and showing the content areas students are working on. Parents can also benefit from seeing a slide show about a field trip their children took where images and information can be incorporated in to the slide show. Students will also love powerpoint presentations because teachers can incorporate images, animation, sound effects, graphs, clip art, and many more things in to the lesson to make it more interesting. Students, parents and colleagues will really enjoy powerpoint slide shows.
